I'm planning to fly to Paris on 20th Aug arriving there at 6am. I would like to know the fastest form of transportation from CDG to Porte Maillot (I think that's next to Arc de Triumph).

My hotel is Le Meridien Etoile, is it close to the Air France bus stop?

How is the weather like and should I get winter clothes?

  1. There is no proactical difference although, of course, a taxi will take you directly to the hotel while the bus drops you at Porte Maillot which is a minute or two away.

It is summer in Paris so I have no idea why you would want winter clothes.

  2. If you are from Dubai, Parisian summer late August is indeed a little cooler than Dubai winters so you may want to bring an extra layer or two if you are used to very hot temperatures only. Late August the highs range from 20 C to 25 C (59 F to 77 F) and the lows can drop to 12 C - 15 C (mid-50's F). If you find that cool then you should bring long pants and a few long-sleeve shirts.

As for transportation, as said above, no difference. The Air France bus drops you off really close to your hotel and it is cheaper than a taxi. Traffic should be smooth enough at that time as it is still very early by French standards.
