I am going to be a sophomore in high school next year and have the option to either take Honors Chemistry or AP Physics.

What class do you think would be more challenging, Honors Chemistry or AP Physics?

Could you explain some about each class as well?

Thanks!

  1. ap cuz ap is a higher level than honors

  2. Physics.

  3. This is impossible to answer as it depends on the individual. To a minor extent it is also influenced by the teacher.

I studied both Physics and Chemistry and found them both challenging and both very interesting. Some of my school friends loved one and hated the other, finding one harder than the other. It was very idiosyncratic

  4. I took honors chemistry as a sophomore then AP chemistry as a junior and AP Physics B as a junior.  AP Physics is a much harder and challenging course than chemistry.  The concepts are a lot more difficult and it covers a wide range of topics.  The math in both classes is pretty easy: algebra in physics and in chemistry and trigonometry in physics too but if you are taking AP Physics C, the math includes calculus and so is a lot more difficult.  I found chemistry to be an easy class compared to physics which was crazy difficult.  No matter which class you choose to take, make sure that you do all of the practice problems and read the book and don't be afraid to ask the teacher questions.  You should take AP Physics if you want a challenge but I don't think I would have been able to handle it sophomore year.

  5. I am afraid i don't know the difference between the two.

But i would like to tell you that physics is physics and chemistry is chemistry and the hardest science is considered to be physics.

This is a fact that comes from students across the globe.

I was surprised when i heard that too.

Slowly, it all became real for me.

In my point of view, if i were to choose a more challenging subject, i would pick the hardest of the two and in my case it is physics.

But i am a person that's living oceans away than you so we may have different conditions which may alter our decisions.
