  1. Football for sure,

rugby is such a easy sport, all you need to know is

    1) only pass backwards

    2) no high tackles (at or above the neck)

    3) once you get a tri (touch down) you get 5 points and a free kick, if you make the kick you get another 2

the only other way to get a point is from a converted penalty, (3 points ) that’s pretty much it… for starters+

PLUS rugby is A LOT more fun! trust

  2. Like asking if oranges and apples are the same.

No, learning one sport will not make it easier to learn the other. Only advantage of playing one sport before getting into another is that you'll be in better physical shape.

  3. Rugby is a game for all sizes, and is a social game. Soccer/Football is a game that is simpler to learn, due to positional play. Rugby is quite technical at the beginning, as different position have different techniques.

I love rugby, but love watching the Football World Cup. Best sporting event in teh world.

  4. Football is harder to learn and rugby is harder to play

  5. Rugby

You have to play offense AND defense

  6. THey are differnt sports though american football cam e from rugby and rugby can from european football. In the US I would say many people already know teh basics of football. AMny do not in Rugby. So rugby players are always welcoming new players and understand that they may not know anything about the I believe football players would look at you funny for not understanding the game.

Rugby is more physically demanding as there are 80 minutes with no breaks and often players play the whole match not 2 minutes.

  7. Definitely Rugby. If you are speaking of American football, then I'd have to say that Rugby is a little harder to learn, but Americans have grown up around football so they know the rules.

  8. This is a very broad question. I learned soccer first and found it difficult to play rugby. Soccer is easier as you can pass the ball forward and there are not half the number of possible infringments as in rugby. Soccer is also easier as you only need to be fit to play. If you master the art of kicking a ball your sorted.

Rugby on the other hand, is quite difficult. To play rugby, you need to be strong, brave and fit. If you have never played rugby before, you will find it very difficult at the beginning as you will have to remember various moves and your part in them, that you can never be infront of the person with the ball, and various other rules. When you get into it, you will not be too interested in learning how to play soccer.

If you play rugby, soccer will be very to learn as it is a much more basic game.

  9. Football is definately harder to learn than rugby because rugby only has a few simple rules and you can play it anywhere without equiptment

  10. football is harder to learn trust me i've tried both rugby is easier

  11. no, football is harder because of how much running there doing and it gets kind of frustating to get the ball in the goal.

  12. RUGBY

  13. Rugby. Football is easy to learn, just kick a round ball into a square goal.

  14. Football is harder to learn, because if you play rugger you become passionate about it and will WANT to learn. Only thing about rugger is, at first you tend to wake up in pieces the next day. It's a make or break game, but most people who start rugger, MAKE. So once you get over the initial discomfort - boy, do you want to go out there and play!

  15. I played soccer from about age 6 to age 12 then switched to American football until 18.  I started playing rugby at age 14 and played through college until an elbow injury caused me to quit.  I would say soccer is the easiest game to learn, followed by rugby, then American football.  In terms of how hard each is to play, soccer is the easiest followed by American football and then rugby.  American football is the hardest to learn because there are so many plays you have to learn and you have to be able to read what the other team is going to do, then put it all together.  It is a little easier to play than rugby because you have specialized positions and only have to do what your position asks you to do.  In rugby there isn't much to learn and there aren't that many plays.  You use more of your instincts than intelligence.  And it doesn't matter what position you play.  Once you are past the scrums and line-outs everyone on the team has the same responsibilities.  You'll see the big forwards in the back line, smaller backs in the rucks, everyone tackling and everyone scoring.  Plus rugby has by far the most fit atheletes in the world.  Its like an 80 minute sprint while running into a brick wall over and over again.  When I was in high school my American football season (including summer practices) was from June until November and rugby went from December to May (including winter practices).  I was at my fittest at the end of the rugby season and most out of shape at the end of the football season.

  16. if your talking about the australian way to play these sports then definetly rugby.
