It would depend upon which parts you're talking about.  Florida is warmer than southern Chile whereas Columbia is warmer than Alaska.  On average South America would win.  The equator happens to run through Equador.

North America is hotter than South America. I say this because you can't forget about the carribean and Central America. They are close to the equator. North America has more countries hotter than the countries in South America.

Latin America is hotter as more of it is in the tropics. -23 s to +23 N. compared to North America which is all outside the tropics and has part of it inside the Arctic Circle.  None of South America is south of the Antarctic Circle.
