I am a German white male teen, and love jalapenos. Why do most Germans in my town hate them, while the Hispanics love them? Are our lungs and stomachs that different?

  1. Per the Scoville Hot Pepper heat index, habeneros rank higher than jalapenos. http://homecooking.about.com/library/wee...

As to the rest, you tend to develop a tolerance to peppers if you are exposed to them regularly. Since they are a New World veggie, most Germans have not been exposed to them for the same length of time as Latin Americans. I don't recall many German recipies that call for hot peppers. So I think it's a matter of perferring what is familiar. Some of us love experimenting with different cuisines, though.

  2. habeneros by far are the most spicy. and thats coming from an indian who lives off spice

  3. in my opinion serrano peppers are the hotter then both !! if you like them .. cut 3 jalapenos  3 serranos and half an onion in a pan with slices of chicken .. its soo good
