Which is less busy/crowded, Puerto Vallarta or Playa Del Carmen?

It depends..... Playa is quite smaller than P. Vallarta, so it might seem more crowded even though here may be the same amount of people (tourists) in both places. However, most of the resorts in the Playa del Carmen area are not right next to the town itself, but a bit farther...... so the hotel zone won't be crowded itself, while the hotels in Vallarta are closer to downtown and the marina so there's more flow of people there of course. If you went to NUEVO Vallarta it'd be more or less like going to Playa: you'd be in a more secluded place and not next to the town, which might make it seem like there are less people...... anyhow, it's not high season in either place so it rather depends on where you would like to go the most, the crowds shouldn't be an issue in this month of the year.

Puerto Vallarta (located in Jalisco state) is a bigger city than Playa del Carmen, It has beautiful landscapes around with the jungle and the mountains, and is in the Pacific Ocean.

Playa del Carmen (located in Quintan Roo state) is in the caribean see, the water is really beatiful, and there are many mayan pyramids and ruins to see , like Chichen-Itzá, Tulúm, Cobá, and many others. In Puerto Vallarta there are no pyramids (there were no advanced civilizations in the area)

Both places are very nice; but you may find much to see in Playa del Carmen
