Which is more annoying, the skeptics that say no one is psychic or the believers that say everyone is psychic?

Question

I know it annoys those who think they have magical powers when the skeptics say no such powers exist, but what about the other side of the coin?

I'm sure I have no psychic powers, how offended should I be when people insist that absolutely everybody has them?

It is very easy to convince the skeptics to change their mind.  All you have to do is show them that you can do what you claim you can do.  Anecdotes about 'that time you thought about your mother and then she called' are not proof.  A simple demonstration of your ability IS proof, and would shut us all up.  So the fact that none of them has ever provided this demonstration tells us that no one can actually do what they claim they can do.  And why should we just believe everything they say if they can't back it up?

no, things like this DO happen. its usually the religious people who beleive "god" is the almighty power and he wouldnt allow such things to happen. think if it, if people say they can see things, and can prove things without even knowing about it[ex. a boy going into a house and sayin theres a lady sitting on the couch, whithout him having knowledge of a lady dying in the same house on that couch] its real, but if you dont want to beleive it you dont have to.

There's no reason to be offended or annoyed because there are so many different opinions. I think it's more fun this way. Having so many viewpoints is a good thing. It sort of raises our collective database, and sometimes it's hilarious.

If it helps any, I believe you when you say you have no psychic powers...

Please don't get annoyed by things beyond our control. You can't compel people believe this or don't believe that. believe in that which makes you happy and don't believe in that which makes you unhappy. Live with present. Life is short, who knows what will happen next moment. Be yourself. This world has all, good and evil things. Believe what you, within you think IS.

i believe if you believe. i am very suseptical to picking up peoples thoughts and feelings with them or without being near them. at times. it is not such a thing for me i can snap my fingers and turn on. not everybody has them so to speak because life is clouding and busy and messy. so i guess your question can have no right nor wrong, apart from the individuals state of mind at a particular time.

The people who say everyone has hidden psychic abilities. If everyone had psychic abilities, we'd know it by now.

Okay this may seem hypocritical of me to say this since I am a true believer and do believe there are real psychics and believe that to a point we all have some psychic abilities but I must say that the most annoying is the believers who say everyone is psychic.

I can handle skeptics who cannot believe in anything other than scientific proved situations, but the people who see signs, and omens in everything and think they can tell you exactly what is going on due to a dream or a sign is very annoying to me.

I guess it is a hold over from one of my experiences in churches where they tried to control me by telling me dreams and visions that God gave them that by the way was always what they wanted for me and never, ever what I wanted for me or what was best for me.  I see this same thing in a lot of people even outside churches.

Some people when they feel they have gift, they can be very annoying. Not all, as a pagan and Wiccan I know many who are not annoying but many are and those who think everyone is psychic can be very annoying.

If I had to choose between being in a room of 100 believers or 100 skeptics I would choose the skeptics every time even though I myself am a true believer in these things, but there is also a thing called common sense and balance that cannot be ignored.

Well, I tell you what.  Let's just end the discussion now.

Psychic ability could be easily tested under scientifically controlled conditions, if it even exist.

To date no one has been able to prove psychic ability, or anything paranormal for that matter.

Now all that has to be done, is some of the psychics to step up, and under scientifically controlled conditions prove their psychic ability.

There is a link that is provided below, that will pay anyone 1 million dollars if they can show under scientifically controlled conditions, psychic ability.

Guess what?   No one can even pass the preliminary test to get to the big test.

So out of the millions and millions of people in the world, not a single so called  "psychic"   can claim the million dollars?

What does that tell me?  It tells me that people who claim they are psychic are the most annoying.   Period.

To any psychics out there, who have their abilities tested, and claim the million, please let us know.   Otherwise stop being so annoying.

Ok now I believe that everybody - has the power to hone into their inner voice (http://www.soulhealer.com/innervoice.htm... that can warn us of something that is harmful to us. How many people for example chose NOT TO go to work that day on 9/11 or when the bombings occurred in London in 2005? How many people simply decided for what ever reason to go late or take another train or not go to work? Or other tragedies big and small simply tuned into that inner voice of warning that said "don't do that". I believe everybody has that inner voice or intutition but have convinced themselves its some special psychic ability. i dont think it is, but really our psychie doing what it can to keep us safe. How many people men and women had that special feeling not to do something and it proved correct? I think we spend much time analysing things and reading way too much into them. I dont think that listening to that intutition or inner voice is magical. I don't think getting the urge to ring great Aunt Melba to find she is sick and needs help or have the urge to visit your daughter to find she is in a Domestic Violence situation and desperately requires your help is overally magical, but some people have labelled these every day intutitions or inner warnings as something psychic . i dont think they are! *80 years ago people were way more "intune" and used their  6 th sense or inner voice more but I think with the onset of technology many people lose that and those that do listen to that inner voice are convinced they have some extra special power which is not necessary true and can cause other people to question their credability and label them a as looney. Think about it how many times have you rung a friend and was told " Oh I knew it was you before I picked up the phone" or " You have been on my mind are you ok" or you may have said or had someone else say " drive home later dear I have a bad feeling right now" only to find out there was an accident on the road at the same time you were on the road. Recently a pregnant woman expecting twins drover herself to hospital 10 weeks earlier quite upset. She insisted the doctors and midwives check her out. They did and the foetuses were distressed and may of died had she not got herself medical help and a emmergency caesare!! What caused her to become allarmed? Her dogs yes thats right her to female collie dogs were jumping on her and putting their heads to her stomache and baying and looking sad later after the emmergencies she said " I had the darnest feeling their was something wrong and they had picked up on it so I got to the hospital quick smart" and she saved her babies!!

I think people all people have the ability to tune into their environment and listen for inner warnings - and take heed. But not every one does - even police talk about trusting that inner voice to advoid assaults or homicides. Its not psychic or supernatural. I think people can help themselves tune in and pick up on warnings that could save their lives or that of loved ones.

In answer to your question a skeptic is probably more annoying and dangerous imagine if a skeptic had been with the pregnant woman saing " Dont be ridiculous there's nothing wrong, the dogs are not telling you anything lie down and stop panicking! The babies would be dead by now but instead she listened to her inner voice and acted on her gut feelings. Skeptics are more difficult and annoying.

She is right and that is why direct proof is not possible because anything psychic or "that special voice or that special feeling". is subjective - it cant be measured. You cannot record Paul dreaming about Sonia winning bingo on saturday night  and it occuring or Betty having a feeling of dread about travelling 300 kilometres down the highway and being involved in an accident!! Or the clock stopping at the precise moment that your father passes away!

they cannot be weighed or measured because they are people's experiences like seeing a ghost or having an unusual dream! So no their is no way really to prove these experiences!!

Just FYI, being a "skeptic" doesn't mean that you automatically don't believe...no.  It means you expect some verifiable evidence, not just some weirdo in a tin-foil hat waving their arms while claiming to be in contact with Abe Lincoln...or whatever.

Skeptics tend to be, oddly enough, fairly open-minded.  But they are also people who are critical thinkers, so they won't accept wild claims without repeated experiments and PROOF.

I believe someone who has a closed mind is the most annoying after all, who can discount something like that, doesn't that just take all the mystery out of the world if no one was capable of something like that? However I think that people who say everyone is gifted are also a nuisance because the truth is although we all have gifts in different area only a rare few have gifts that are "noticeable" and even few ever actually put it to good use. After all what does is matter whether someone heals you using medicine, a healing touch, prayer or the like, I believe what is truly important is the end result... if your healed your healed.

As a psychic, you find that we do not start posts shouting about what we are, or what we do etc.

But you do see posts from skeptics doing so.

Well. . .here's an incontrovertible FACT!  The human body is a "mass" of energy.  That's why so many people believe in an "afterlife".  When we die. . .that energy HAS to go SOMEWHERE!  Because. . .you CAN'T "kill" energy!
