Mcafee. They started making antivirus software for DOS 5.0 in the early 80's and have been improving ever since.

I use a combination of AVG free edition and Spybot -Search & Destroy. Both are freewares and inn combination provide excellent protection. Update the definitions and run a scan on the system. These are not resource hogs like McAfee or Norton. AVG takes care of viruses and Spybot scans for adwares,spyware and trojans.

of the 2 listed McAfee gets better reviews, although I have heard AVG is catching up, AVG is still pretty new to the purchase version of antivirus (they used to be freeware)

The current true leader of computer protection is Kapersky though, but it's pretty darn expensive to get....
