It has already been proven that large creatures, called dinosaurs existed, so you can imagine that a dragon could be mistaken for one of these creatures.

Another fact that we know is that over a couple thousand years, infomation and history is completely missing. But there are very old books that say that dragons do exists.

Also they have existed because a few years back scientists found a dragon with the flesh still attached to its bones.

I'm more of a dragon fan, myself.  It would be cool to see a real dragon in our present time, though it would probably try to destroy everything so that may be a conflict of interest.

The phoenix, a fire bird of rebirth, it a part of me my natural element.

A Pheonix is 100% mythological, because it is analogous of rebirth in the mystery (philosophy) schools of certain cultures. However it is much more possible that a dragon exists (fire breathing or not), even if it is some sort of remnant from the dinosaurs...

personally tho I think Pheonix's are much cooler... ;-)

What do you mean, more likely to exist or which is cooler? I Think the Phoenix is pretty cool, but would say a (non fire breathing) Dragon would be more likely to exist.
