  1. a kilo of iron would have a higher density level but obviously they would both weigh the same seeing as they are both 1 kilo.

  2. cotton

  3. density means mass of the compound present in per unit area.or density=mass/volume

Iron have higher density since its bonding with each iron compound would be more. where as in cotton no such bonding like the iron its only like the nylon or spider net.

I hope u will be clear now.

lets imagine a class room as the iron and playground as the cotton.

each have the same square fet. in the class room there will be more student present where as in playground they placed in different spaace having spaces between them.

Simply its like the solid and a gas lattice .

  4. kilo of iron. This is because a kilo of cotton would take up a larger volume than a kilo of iron.

Volume Density = mass / volume

so density is inversely proportional to volume, and thus cotton would be less dense as more of it is needed to reach 1 Kg of mass and it occupies more space.
