  1. Hello,

I'll address your question to the best of my ability, absent context.

Potency is always secondary to choosing the correct remedy. Think of it this way: Would you use a small hammer or a sledge hammer to insert a tack into a wall?

Another benefit with 30c is that, if Sepia is a good remedy for you, and eventually it stops working - but your symptoms continue to indicate Sepia - you have the option of moving up to 200c - like climbing the stairs from one flight to the next. Increasing potency (often over months, if not years) is effective, going the other direction often disruptive.

I used to write a column for our local natural foods co-op. If you'd like to understand more, here's a link to my article explaining potency: http://suegelber.com/library/1999june.ht...

One other consideration. Like conventional medicine, homeopathy has a "first-aid and acute care" level appropriate for self-help home care. It's best to limit self-help remedies to 30c and below. The upper ranges can open a pandora's box of symptoms (i.e., return of old symptoms, healing crises, etc.). This is when a certified professional homeopath is like a tuning fork, with the skills, education and experience to understand the subtleties of your unique healing response.

Even so, there's a lot people can do to help themselves. That's how I started, and eventually trained to become a homeopath  myself. (Visit http://kitchentablehealing.wordpress.com... if you'd like to read my homeopathic love story and beginnings.)

Remember: Choose with thought, and dose conservatively.

A very good question. Best wishes in your healing.
