Which is more enviromentally friendly?

so i ran out of ziplocs this morning and used foil to wrap up my sandwich. which got me thinking. if we are going to throw it in the trash after using it, is foil or plastic bags better for the enviroment?

  1. Foil.  And you don't have to throw it away after each use.  You can use a couple of times and throw it in the recycle bin afterwards.


  2. In my county we recycle aluminum foil so if that can happen where you are, the foil is much better.

  3. Foil will degrade faster than a plastic bag, but it will leave trace elements in the ground which could leach into the groundwater (if you were to throw tons of the stuff away).

    Landfills are designed to capture leachate, so I would not worry about it.

  4. I usually wrap my food up in foil then put the foil in a ziplock bag. I try to live my life in the most wastful way.
