k so i was just curious.... obviously something like cookies/candy bars or any junk food really is bad for you. but like, let's say for some reason (i don't plan to, i'm just wondering though) u start having ur meals consist of nothing but junk food. like let's say ur diet becomes like 4 candy bars every day. but that's all that u eat. so obviously those are all super sugary and fattening, but if that's all you've eaten all day then that's only about 1000 calories. where as let's say u ate super healthy foods (veggies, nuts, dairy, meat, all that stuff) but a lot of them, and u ended up eating like 1500 calories worth of healthy food, which would be more fattening in the end? a small amount of junk, or a large amount of nutritional food?

and i know that you'd obviously be more healthy all around eating super healthy, i'm just curious how each would affect ur weight? thanks ahead of time! :)

  1. Well, if all you ate was junk food - you would suffer from malnutrition. You need other things in your diet to be healthy too.

As for how fattening either of them are, it depends on what kind of nutrition they contain. For example, candy bars contain a lot of artificial sugar and those make you fat; veggies contain a lot of natural sugar and starch and those won't make you fat as quickly.

  2. ~ Neither.

You would not be reaching your BMR (necessary calorie needs just to function), what is uncertain is exactly the effects that would result from the lack of nutrition in the candy bar diet.  You wouldn't gain weight on either program healthy or not because it is a reduced calorie.  Regardless of the food you need X amount of calories to run, if you ate 1,000 calories of candy bars your BMR would decrease but you are still deficient in calories hence no gain weight and potential weight loss.

  3. Well it would seem that it would be better to have the candy bars with less calories, but in the end the fruit is healthier. The fruit and healthy food while being a bigger calorie intake turn into less fat because it is better nutrition and burns in your body better. The stuff in the candy will automaticly turn to fat because there is not nutritinal value. The health food will just turn to proper energy there for making it healthier then the candy bars even though less calories are consumed. That as a side note the usaul proper amount of calories is 2000 daily or proper food.

  4. Actually getting the 1500 calories would affect your weight less than eating 1000 calories worth in candy and junk.  The calories in fat are going to be much different and thats what you need to look at, and the junk food is going to have way more calories in fat than the veggis and super foods are.

  5. Well, the 1500 calaries would be more fattening but you'd be much healthier eating the balanced meal. You can't live off junk food.

  6. Well, duuuh you can't eat too many veggies and stuff? And they don't have fat and sodium and all that bad c**p in them like candy bars do, so even though you ate more calories, the veggies would definitely be the better choice.

I'm pretty sure Candy Bars and junk food are always going to be more fattening than Healthy food like vegetables?!?!?

  7. your body is made to process nutritional food. Just cause it says so many calories doesn't mean that much is going into your body, when food can be processed than you only get the good part of it and lose the rest. Unlike sugar which is stored.

  8. You'd probably lose weight on the candy bar diet but you'd end up with a shrunken stomach, and malnutrition - no joke.

The healthy food diet, would depend on how you ate it and how balanced it was.

If you ate more than you needed you'd put on weight but you'd be healthy, you'd just be a bit on the chunky side.

However if you were to exercise then you'd just get really really fit!

  9. Depending on the dairy and how much, what kind, and how the meat is cooked, than the candy bars would be a healthier choice, because you can get the 100 calorie ones, but you will have a greater chance of having diabetes. One the other hand if you eat the daily recommened servings of the the "healthy" foods, and prepared them right, than that you be better.
