  1. They are exactly the same "under the skin" both GM products.  The standard Escalade is the same as the Yukon/Tahoe, the Escalade XL is the same as Yukon XL/Suburban.

If you can afford the vehicle then do not worry about gas mileage.

I have an 04 Suburban with a 8.1 Liter and a Whipple Super Charger, 520hp, 800ft/lbs torque 9.5mpg on premium only.

Do not let anyone make you feel guilty either, the free market should dictate not a bunch of ill informed liberals.  There is no such thing as man made Global Warming.  The Great Lakes were formed by glaciers and they melted long before SUV's.  Greenland was once green so it has also become colder without SUV's.

  2. Efficient is not a word that should be in the same sentence as Escalade or Yukon. I think it's better to ask which is more wasteful and go from there.

  3. They're the same exact car! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/GMT900

The Escalade will probably get slightly worse fuel economy, due to the increased aerodynamic drag from the ugly.

Now the Tahoe... comes in a hybrid.  Better hybrid than a Prius too.  Gets 21 mpg city, that's 50% better than a normal one and the same as a 4-cylinder Camry.   Except it's a Tahoe.

  4. well i have a yukon xl and it gets decent gas for its size, but i seriously don't recommend getting such a large car...gas prices now at around $3.89 a gallon would cost me about $60-70 to fill up the tank. (it's not mine, but it's the only car i have to drive). I would recommend a smaller SUV.

i don't know about the escalade though.

***EDIT**  i mean they are $2.89/g..BIG difference..i'm having a bad day lol sorry!

  5. The 08' Escalade $55,910.00 MSRP 12mpg city /18-19mpg hwy.

    The 08' Yukon XL $51,175.00 MSRP 14mpg city / 19 mpg hwy.

Twisted Pink and Dr. Jello....you are lucky, I paid $3.45/gal this morning!

  6. Well i have a bigger question ( why do you need a Escalade or Yukon XL?) I own 3 cars 2 of them are V 6 cars that run fine and get 30+ on the highway and a full size 2500 hd pickup (that is non deisel for a reason ) that is used for pick up things and mostly to tow my rv. I had Trucks now SUV's many years ago before people though they were cool and dont now because most people do not need them for many reasons. If you are in a enviroment group please think like it.

  7. 2 wheel drive 2008 Cadillac Escalade: 12 mpg city/17 mpg hwy

2 wheel drive 2008 GMC Yukon XL: 12-14 mpg city/17-20 mpg hwy

4 wheel drive 2008 Cadillac Escalade: 12 mpg city/18 mpg hwy

4 wheel drive 2008 GMC Yukon XL: 12-14 mpg city/17-19 mpg hwy

Basically a tie, depending on how big of an engine you put in the Yukon XL.  They both suck down the gas like a m**o.

  8. I think whats even more fuel efficient than those two SUVs are the huge big rig trucks that deliver all the cars to the dealers!
