Which is more fun with a group of like 6 high school/college students, canoeing or kayaking?

I've been canoeing a lot, but the canoe places are telling me we should go kayaking and that they don't even have as many canoes now because people prefer kayaking. I always thought kayaking was weird. I've never been :-) I just want peeps to have fun!

Depends if you're drinking.  A cooler rests nicely in a canoe.  Kayaks are more fun, but more work.

You can try both.  I went on a 3 day river trip last summer with 4 friends, and we had 3 kayaks, 1 canoe.  We originally planned on rotating places among the kayaks and canoe, but the guys in the canoe liked it, the kayakers were content with their rides, we all had fun.  The biggest advantage of having one canoe for us was storage.  We had a couple tents, sleeping bags, food, drink, clothes, etc, and there's limited space on the kayaks.  If you're just making a day trip space shouldn't be a concern.

kayaking is really fun ive been several times you should try it and if all the peeps say you should go then how can you resist lol

Do what YOU like.  If they're trying to shove kayaks down your throat, tell them you're going to another rental agent.  Try kayaking if you want, but don't let them push you into it.  Both are fun...it's the people you're with that will ultimately decide how much fun the group has!
