What if you were incredibly smart but had zero motivation? Or what if you were kinda dumb but had a ton of motivation?

  1. What is intelligence? What is motivation? You need to answer these questions first. Assuming that one has zero intelligence or zero motivation is wrong. Neither exists hypothetically and in real life.

We have different intelligences. We need to find make the most of the talents given to us. This is why it is exciting to work with human beings. They are unpredictably intelligent, but not always the kind of intelligence that you expect. It is foolishness to measure one's intelligence based on one measurement.

The same is true with motivation. We have different motivations. If you want to motivate people, the best way is not to measure what he does. Find out his needs. Show him that it can be achieve.

When a person is motivated, he uses his intelligence (every kind of intelligence) to the utmost. Intelligent people are best motivated by allowing them to use their unique intelligence.

To separate motivation and intelligence is not possible.
