I tried the "Straight” Razor once. SCARY!!

I know that disposables are not good for landfill, but in all fairness they should be left in the equation.

  1. Straight razor or safety razor both are made of metal with metal blades. A straigt razor can last for years and years if properly cared for and sharpened. A safety razor has "disposable" blades which can be recycled. They are the only way to go to be truly eco conscious unless you just let your hair grow. Those razors take some time to adjust to and you need to make sure you use an emulsified shaving cream. You can check my fiance's and my experiences and our recipe for shaving cream on our blog

  2. Straight razors are the only answer.  I have been using one for years, they are no more dangerous than any other bladed razor.  Electric razors are not worth the powder to blow them to the hot place.

  3. i would prefer straight razors but if u are really that scared of it then i can recommend disposable razors.  although its bad for landfills, u can reduce the number being sent by using the same blade multiple times by just rinsing and wiping the blade dry with a towel for several uses before throwing it away.  it worked for me and i managed to get up to 40 uses for one disposable blade so try it.

  4. My plug-in Norelco has no batteries to dispose of and no disposable blades to waste, despite that I had to replace the heads once. I much prefer it to disposables, rechargables, AND straight razors!

  5. Rechargeable Razors. Disposables end up in landfills, Electric shaver batteries end up in landfills. You can use rechargeable again and again.

  6. Grow a beard.
