Question:

Which is more "twisted"?

A suicidal mother killing her toddler before killing herself so that her ex-husband would not get custody of him.

Or

A man murdering a woman, chopping her body into pieces, putting them into bags and hiding them in different places?

I know they're both pretty awful, but which one would be more likely to describe as 'twisted', and why? :-)

  1. Holy emotional, psychological and mental quiz Catwoman!  Can this question be any more prejudiced towards one answer?  :0

Which is more twisted...a father who with his son runs away to Europe from a physically violent wife who beats their son

    or

A mother who drowns all her children in the bathtub because the voices inside her head got too strong?

Answer:  both are sick and this question is purposely prejudiced towards the mother hiding her child from the "bad" man.  Yet if he is so bad, how did he get custody?

Maybe cause she is a sicko and might harm the child?  Gosh...can men ever be seen as innocent?

  2. It would have to be the  mother. The murderer is wasting only one life. It's pretty messed up. But unless him, the mother not only wasting her life but also taking her child's life away. It's wrong, not that the other isn't. But if you think of it as how many souls are taken awake, then the answer is obvious.

  3. think the toddle thing is more twisted....

ya know the whole little innocent child thing

  4. I think there both pretty sick.

  5. Stop reading the d**n paper, Ele.  Go have some Chinese chicken with Gazzie or smoke a fat one with Johnny instead.  They're waaay more fun than the stupid paper.

They're equally f-ed up in my opinion though.

  6. The mom with the toddler because that's her flesh and blood.  And it's pretty twisted that you would throw a smiley face into a question like that.

  7. The first one, because one must really be sick, twisted, and very selfish to resort to killing a child, especailly for a reason like that.

  8. Mother killing her child is very sad and upsetting - twisted is hardly the word i'd use.

  9. I believe the second story is more twisted because there isn't any reason behind his killing and also he because he planned it and took pride in killing!

  10. Both are equally sick and twisted.

  11. The mother was probably just crazy and we should be sympathetice towards her, while the man is just pure evil.

Actually, both are extremely terrible things.  I can't say which is worse, although it sounds worse to murder your own child.  That's the one that got me first.

  12. Both are gruesome and disturbing.  If I had to pick one over the other I would have to say the murder suicide for two reasons.  1) It is unnatural beyond imagination to kill ones own child.  I will never understand how people do that.  2) Murder suicides just plain p**s me off.  If you're going to commit suicide you should always start with yourself.

  13. the mother, she killed a toddler, just to get back at her ex-husband

childkillers have always been regarded as the lowest of low,

  14. How can you pick between these two? This is disturbing. Both of these things are evil. There is no way to say one of these things is less evil than the other.

  15. I am a bit biased when it comes to children so I will have to say the mother killing the toddler so the ex doesn't get custody.  But the guy is pretty twisted too.

  16. An awful twisted sense of justice is the man who murdered the woman, chopping her body into pieces, putting them into bags and hiding them in different places; just because she killed their toddler to prevent him from getting custody; never mind her being suicidal; to him that don't count.

  17. Both of those people are diabolical! The both are very twisted, but I would say that the mother killing her child so her husband can't have him is the most grotesque. She obviously did not love her child enough to let them live.

  18. I think one is depressed, the suicide, and people can understand the motivation, but chopping bodies and keeping the parts - no one can understand that.  It is completely against human nature - abhorance of dead things.  So - chopping is more twisted.

  19. I don't think I can make a choice between them - anyone who murders  must be twisted in some way, and they are both horrible senarios.

  20. What type point are you trying to prove asking such an awful question murder is bad period.

  21. I can't really comprehend either one... I can't believe you would post this in here and subject all of the readers to think about these horrible acts.

    You are the most twisted.

This question doesn't belong in this category... unless you're honestly trying to make the argument that the reporters thought the man's act was better and they were unfairly bashing the woman for killing her kid... in which case I feel sorry for you.

    :-)

  22. Well at least the mother had a slight chance of self defense and...

No D8, there is no lesser evil between the 2.

  23. Most people including those in the judicial system find women resorting to violence more disturbing than the same act being carried out by men.  Women are more likely to get harsher sentences than men for the same crime.

When this violence is directed against children this seems to shock more, it is women who are supposed to be the nurturers in society.  Then of course newspapers sell by being sensational and a "twisted mother" headline will sell more papers.

  24. The first one. Killing a little kid is so wrong even if it's not their own kid. The other one is bad too, people are so sick, but if I had to choose which one is worse then the first one.

  25. Both sound twisted. However you don't mention the man's motivation, so as it is I can comprehend - however awful - the first scenario, but I have no understanding of the reasoning behind the second.

    Edit

'Twisted mother' does indeed sound a bit sensationalist, and judgmental. Aren't female murderers supposed to be revered in our feminist media? Hm.

I don't need to read some journalist's opinion in the main news stories. What I want are facts.

  26. The first one, at least in the second one the child is still alive.

  27. I cannot even begin to wrap my mind around either of these scenarios, and I don't think I care to.  I refuse to decide which is  the lesser of two evils.

  28. The first one; how about this

Bill Cosby naked doing the crab walk on the moon.

Try and get that out of your head.

  29. In my job I've heard both cases(Forensics investigator). The guy that chops a women to pieces is the craziest. A man that did that was sentences to life in prison. I was actually the one who gather the evidence to convict him so he is pretty pissed at me and swore to kill me. I don't care though...

  30. The question is are you insane. They are both the acts of a deranged human with no remorse. Both are twisted and if you need to ask maybe you are twisted as well.

  31. I think it's the second.  Mothers who kill their children are inevitably suffering from some kind of mental illness.  And I don't know from the information you give why the woman was so determined to keep her ex-husband from gaining custody, but if he was abusive then perhaps she couldn't bear the thought of her son being subjected to years of abuse.

I think the second is more twisted because it's much harder to understand - not that killing a child is easy to understand.  I mean, to murder someone is one thing, but to chop up the body and hide pieces in different places... I imagine chopping up a body would be very difficult to do, both physically and psychologically.  And what's the psychological motivation behind hiding the pieces instead of getting rid of the body?  That also sounds very bizarre to me.

I guess both these murderers were probably psychologically disturbed, but I think the man who cut up the woman sounds considerably more psychologically disturbed (twisted) than the woman who killed her son.
