  1. the best things in life are free. like my son's smiling face as he hugs me and says he loves me. i wouldnt trade that for anything.

  2. Nothing comes free would be the "most real" just because there may still be some consequence that you have to do after getting that "thing."

Love, for example, is one of the greatest things in life but you either have to endure not having the reciprocity of it, or away from your love one, or having to be responsible with the one that you love in terms of financial, emotional, physical, and psychological.. Family members, relatives, friends, spouse, children, and girlfriend falls under the love category.. They cannot be bought by money, but it is the expense that you have to nurture the relationship or endure the loneliness brought about by separation or problems..

Both those facts are real but if I really have to pick one they I would say that nothing comes for free..

  3. The best thing in life are free!

Coz I always get free stuffs w/o strings attached.

  4. nothing comes for free

  5. It's both real in some extent.

  6. The second one!

  7. The best things in life are for free... Imagine life without your friends and families.. You didn't bought them, but they are the major source of your happiness.. There are many things that money can't buy.

  8. I would pick the second statement, of course.

"The best things in life are free."   This preposition has more depth than the first.

The first is shallow.  No depth at all.   It is so shallow it has not even a centimeter's depth in it.  Nosiree!   Not even a milimeter's depth.  In fact, it is Nothing!

While in fact, the first one has all the depth we need.  For example, the ocean.   It is free and is one of the best to come to when you need to go for a swim.   And, most important, it has depth!   In fact, some are so deep the tallest buildings in the world would drown in it.

Now, the air.   You might think it has no depth, but from certain layers of the atmosphere,  people measure the depth from scientific balloons.  And it is free, too.   Best freebie in the world.  And certainly deep when measured from up there.

Love is certainly the best.  That is why among the best, it is the last I will mention.   It is at its most pure state when given freely.  And it certainly has depth, too.   Because love that was sold and purchased is certainly shallow, and shall not be retained in the depths of our memory.

Added:  So sorry, Maej.  I got in so deep I think I got lost in the fourth para.   Should read "While in fact, the SECOND one ...".

  9. the best things in life are free!!! [:

but the second best are really expensive..

  10. maej, first of all, "facts" are already "real" - that's why they're called facts... they are the absolute truth.

But I will choose "the best things in life are free" as the better saying.  It could mean the unconditional love you give to your family;  the fresh air you breathe; your excellent health; the compliment you give to friends.   Those are just a few I could think of rapidly.  I hope I helped you in some way.

  11. I think the first one is for material things while the second one is for intangible ones.  Really cant compare, they are not the same = )

  12. Both are real.

in a capitalist country, where profit is the only thing that is needed in order for it to survive, nothing surely comes for free. it's like "no free lunch".

but on the aspect of life, free here refers to things that we do have, we can acquire or that are just there without us even noticing them but are necessary for survival.  we were born having a family, relatives (whether we loathe them or not), the air that we breath are just few of those that we no longer have to work hard for. and the good thing with that fact is, we love or enjoy having these free things.

  13. Nothing comes for free, especially nowadays that the economy's having a rough time...All i want when i give something to someone (that's free) to acknowledge a THANK YOU, coz you rarely get anything for free these days

  14. The second, "The best things (in life) are free."

The first statement talks about material things in life, that each has a price attached to it and can only be obtained at a certain cost.  In most instances this would be a fair statement which one can make without fear of contradiction.  Surely we could get a free lunch today, but we might have to pay for it in some form in the future.

The second is about intangibles, those that carry no price tags, but nevertheless things we hold so dear in our hearts.  We cherish their value with unchanging passion: without them we are as cold and lifeless as a doorknob.  These are the best things in life, and they are free.  We can't go to the store and buy fellowship or love or loyalty, but we don't need to: they are already within, for us to discover.
