  1. It would depend what job that you are doing.  An airline pilot is reality safe compared to a jet fighter.

An commercial helicopter pilot has some jobs with much more risk then both, the exception would be during a normal war, if the fighter actually had to go into air combat that would have the most risk involved.

If you wanted exact numbers you can check the FAA or NTSB websites for accident statistics.  I don't know where you would find info (if possible) on military accidents.

  2. Commercial lots of flying more opportunities for accidents but (here's a cliche),  "safer than crossing the road". Military; fly for the US  (and therefore the UK when we're told to join in) in other people's wars all the time probably risky. If I were clever enough for a pilot's licence I'd fly commercial - (Think of the benefits)

  3. i think...commercial pilot....coz..if y r fighter pilot...u have responsibility..of one person.DAT is u...but if u commercial pilot..u have a responsibility...of 1000 persons.this is Ur own choice u can do anytinhg,

  4. In addition to the above answer a commercial pilot has a

steady flight path subject to weather conditions and is not

expected to maneouvre his aircraft radically.

Fighter pilots are are trained to handle their aircraft in various

positions and are expected to maneouvre his aircraft e.g. rolls

and dives thus increasing the risk.

Tip: Get insurance premia rates for both.

  5. I'd say being a fighter/test pilot is the most incredible profession..sure it has got risks ..but theres more chances of being run over by a semi while you are out on the streets..

besides if you are concerned about risks, both may be unsuitable..

  6. A fighter pilot I'm sure the ratio of crashes for fighter pilot to commercial pilots is  towards the fighter pilot

  7. Fighter pilot hands down! My husband is a fighter pilot and the training he goes through is so intense. Pulling as much as 7g's in a flight, dropping bombs, dog fighting and just the manuevering make it more dangerous. Keep in mind these jets were made in the early 80's! They are constantly having maintenance issues. He calls me after his flight to let me know he is on deck and safe. So I would definitely say Fighter pilots have a more riskier profession.

  8. Fighter pilot

  9. Ofcourse ! the fighter pilot is more risky .. No doubt in it ..

  10. its always risky to be a fighter pilot...............................

i say, suppose you are going for a war and someone just

puts a miscile against you then what will happen???????

nothing if its your luck you get escaped or get crashed........

not only this they are superfast and if even a small mistake,

in a fraction of seconds you are crashed................................

and in a commercial you are much safe as if you dont have to fight for your country but you have to take  many people to their destination

i say that both are risky because in both a single mistake u r crashed but in a commercial plane there r many hopes on u..........................................

    then u may choose

  11. ofcourse fighter pilot...

  12. Well a fighter guy/gal is deliberately going into harms way, against air and surface systems specifically designed to shoot him/her down.

A commercial pilot faces weather, traffic and the general hazards of flying; (possibly a MANPADS threat) the fighter pilot faces these in addition to those above.

    You decide.

  13. of course fighter pilot.

  14. There's no harm in being a chimerical pilot, because, all you got to do is deliver parcels, packages and transport passengers. There might be hijacks and all such sorts of stuff, but this is comparatively safer than being in AIR FORCE. You don't when you're called up for a war, at anytime. So, you know what wars are all about, right? It's only bloodshed. So, these are very risky.
