Which is most powerful, love or the aggregate power of th human intellect?

Probably this question is most appropriate for a blog, but I want to know what the rest of Yahoo Answers think.

Depends on the circumstances. In interpersonal relationships, love. In dealing with the world, human intellect. There is not clear answer and certainly in certain things, there are things that are more powerful than either.

Love.

When intellect is put to work it can achieve great things, see the buildings of the world, the advances in medicine, crop production, communication.

When love is put to work miracles happen, see a child being born, see a mother lift a car from her husband, see a man walk through fire to save his family.

There is an awesome quote by Emily Dickinson that sums up Love pretty well: "Love can do all things but raise the dead" isn't that so true? In that case, it is even more powerful than the human intellect, because even the human intellect can't understand love.

I think in some sense of the word, these two can, but not always, have some sort of equivalent quality in our lives.

I think the intellectual mind is very strong and almost seems like it has no boundaries as to how much information and knowledge it can obtain.  

Love also can be formed and constructed of the most durable (intangible) material in our lives, and yet it falls apart and we lose it so easily at times.  But when it is true, genuine love it does have enormous strength and we both know it is so valuable to our lives, that we try and clench it with all our might.  

Have you ever heard someone say all we want in our lives is to seek and have "intellect"?  No, all we want in this world is to be loved, love is something we need to survive.  Intellect is something we crave to advance ourselves in this world.  

Both of these things have quality and value in our lives, and can have equal power, it just depends on the person and the situation at hand.

The intellect is powerful in that it can dissect and destory.  The heart is powerful in that it can fuse and create.

The power of love is different from the power of the intellect.  The power is love is like the beauty of a flower.  The power of the intellect is like the brut nature of a rock.  

The rock can smash the beautiful flower; is it therefore more powerful?

individual love can lead to acts of heroism or disaster, but hopefully human intellect can maintain a steady society.  Love = emotion.  Look at the stock market, playing with emotion usually leads to disaster, but the market continues on due to the power of human intellect.  SO they co-exist.  Perhaps human intellect is to love what a stage is to actors.

If by intellect , you mean thoughts - the answer is YES , the power of the human intellect .You can't have love without the mind.
