Which is most reprehensible - fornicating in public or lighting up a cigarette?

Which is most obnoxious - fornicating in front of other passengers on a train or lighting up a cigarette afterwards? These true events were featured in a BBCTV programme.

Apparently the passengers turned a blind eye to the activities of the perpetrators but as soon as they lit up cigarettes the passengers went bonkers!

What does this tell you about the mentality of the public nowadays? Has society gone bananas?

As long as there are no children present, I will pick the former.  The cigarette smoke is full of harmful toxins that dispense throughout the air and becomes unavoidable by others.  They must breathe, but they may look away from the fornicators.  That is, if they wish too.:)

Well you can ignore to a certain extent people making love in public.  Some might even find it entertaining, but don't **** with my air.

What?? That's disgusting. I'd much rather deal with the smoke than the fornicating. I'd rather my kids breathe in the smoke than witness the s*x. Yikes on toast.
