  1. How old are you? Are you in college? If you're in college then  you should know what the SAT is. The SAT (Scholastic Assessment Test) is taken in high school for college entrances and is a 3 hour, 45 minute test on reading, writing, and math.

The GRE is on a whole nother level. It's the Graduate Record Examination. You only take it if you're done with  your undergraduate degree in college and want to pursue a graduate degree.

The TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) only applies to high school students whose first language they learned to speak was not English, and only if they scored lower than a 600 on the SAT reading section.

The IELTS is like the TOEFL. It's the International English Language Testing System. You basically don't have to worry about it unless you're an immigrant and don't have any education and just want a job.

Whichever one is a priority entirely depends on where you are right now as you can see. In high school you'd definitely worry most about the SAT. And then if English was not your first language, you'd worry about the TOEFL ONLY AFTER you've already taken the SAT.

If you're trying to get into grad school you'd worry about the GRE, and the IELTS if you've just come to America and want to skip the education right to the job.

  2. IELTS
