  1. i'd say mayans are egyptians who migrated, sort of like the pilgrims went from england to the USA. the mayan pyramids are a bit more primative, so the "best and brightest" weren't involved in this migration, but they had the "idea".

  2. Ancient Egypt was a civilization in eastern North Africa concentrated along the middle to lower reaches of the Nile River in what is now the modern nation of Egypt. The civilization began around 3150 BC

While the Maya area was initially inhabited around the 10th millennium BCE, the first clearly “Maya” settlements were established in approximately 1800 BCE in Soconusco region of the Pacific Coast. This point in time, known as the Early Preclassic

The Maya civilization is a Mesoamerican civilization, noted for the only known fully developed written language of the pre-Columbian Americas, as well as its spectacular art, monumental architecture, and sophisticated mathematical and astronomical systems. Initially established during the Preclassic period, many of these reached their apogee of development during the Classic period (c. 250 CE to 900 CE), and continued throughout the Postclassic period until the arrival of the Spanish. At its peak, it was one of the most densely populated and culturally dynamic societies in the world.

  3. Top contributor EPIC FAIL.

  4. Mayan by 2000 years at least

  5. I say Egyptian civilization is older. We do not have many facts about Mayan period, so it is really hard to say.

  6. The Egyptians are a good ways older. Egypt united and became an empire around 3500 B.C. The Mayans didn't become an empire until at least 2000 B.C.
