Which is safer for a Caribbean beach stay, somewhere in Belize or Bay Islands, Honduras??

I'll be traveling solo (24, male) and speak Spanish. I won't be staying in the large cities, so my question refers to towns in that Caribbean region. Might be staying in a hostel. Crime and health information both are appreciated. Thanks!

Sweety!! Go for Bay Islands!!! Its a piece of heaven right here on earth!!!

In regards to crime, Roatan is pretty safe, its a family place, Utila is to go party!! Lots of foreigners come here, stay away from Guanaja, borring.... real borring!!

Bay Islands...it's perfectly safe there.  I'll be there two weeks time!  Can't wait!
