Actually in order of potency both are Schedule II narcotics but Methadone is considered 3-4 times stronger than oral Morphine (oxymorphone). Even stronger is Fentanyl followed by Heroin.. However, the fact that you are asking here concerns me. If you were being prescribed these meds you should ask your doctor or pharmacist. However, if you are considering trying opiates recreationally all are like playing Russian Roulette. Methadone stays in your system approximately 3-7 days. This is one reason why it can be dangerous. People take a dose of it, don't get the expected results (because it does not make you high like others might say) then they take more, the problem is the first dose is still in the system. Eventually it builds and builds until overdose happens. Also, Methadone is highly incompatible with many drugs like Xanax, Valium, Alcohol, Anti depressants, and other sedatives.
