  1. Stronger is a matter of your own personal dexterity.

A ridge hand gives you a harder striking surface (skin and bone with no layer of muscle between them.)

  2. i think the chop.  it feels more easier and delivers a more poweful blow

  3. Much depends on the angle and whether you do it correctly or not. A ridge hand  is great for coming upward into the ribs, liver, solar plex, under the chin, or side of the neck, basicly as an upward strike or a horizantil strike. I prefer the Shuto(karate chop) for coming downward, letting your body weight drop as you do. I will use either at any given moment, depending on my position, where my opponent is, and what is open.

  4. I'd say the ridge hand purely because more body weight can be used behind it. Shuto or "karate chop" is powerful but being able to use it effectively is a different story.

  5. There is no such thing as a "karate chop."  It's a Judo Chop, didn't you watch Austin Powers?  jk

It depends, there has to be about 5 or 6 different way to throw each one.  I would say my ridge hand generally hits harder though.
