the seagul is never stronger. not sure exactly what you mean by stronger, but if its like muscle stuff, then def penguin. penguins also stand up to colder temperatures, if they didnt like it they would move somewhere else.

Depends on what type of penguin... if you mean emperor then yep, the penguin is stronger, if you mean the smaller species that live in South America, then the seagull is stronger.

Species definitely matters.  I believe the fairy penguin of Australia is the most diminutive penguin species, yet not small enough to be a sea gull's dinner.

In addition, penguins live off of the bounty of the world's oceans, while the gulls are more often than not opportunistic scavengers.  So, I would have to side with the penguins.

It is interesting to note, that most penguin species are found in the warmer climes.  Most associate with the Emperors and erroneously believe that penguins are primarily cold weather aquatic animals.

On the other hand, gulls' habitat is not limited to coastal areas, and they are found far inland, usually around dump sites, which gives them a leg up in the survival department.

Given the fact that our feathered friends in the tuxedo are quite large, again I would have to say that, for strength, the Emperor penguins of Antarctica have it hands down.

If, on the other hand, the use of the word "penguin" is as a slang term for nuns, then they, armed with their wooden rulers, would clobber 'em all.
