  1. Gar du Nord

  2. Bonjour Jennifer,

In Paris there are 6 main stations. They can have the metro, regional express network, suburban trains, mainline, night, high-speed, european trains...

You can see the details of these stations here :

Yes, it all depends on what your destination is... as to which station you will want. If you are referring to a mainline station, your ticket will always mention which is the departure station.

Here's some general info about trains in France. http://www.bonjourlafrance.net/france-tr...

    Bon voyage

  3. For the subway and suburban trains : Chatelet-Les Halles, I would say. Its right in the centre of Paris and you can connect with most lines from it.

Otherwise there are at least  5 train stations in Paris, depending on which direction you want to go. Eg Gare de Lyon, if you're travelling to the south of France.

For more info, google "RATP" or "SNCF"

  4. There is no main station. You will have to choose the station you are leaving from depending on your train's destination. Trains to southern France leave from Gare de Lyon, trains to Germany leave from Gare de l'Est, trains to Brittany from Gare Montparnasse. Tricky, I know. Especially if you need to change trains and cross all of Paris by métro.
