Which is the Best Smart Phone for Sprint: MOTO Q, Centro or Blackberry Pearl?

I am in the market for a new smart phone. My options are the BlackBerry Pearl, Palm Centro and the Motorola MOTO Q. The MOTO Q is much cheaper in price. Anyone know the difference between the 3 in terms of Operating System and ability to access online documents, etc? Most of my productivity is done on the cloud through Web 2.0 apps.

The original Moto Q or the Q9c? Skip the original unless you are using it for only data. The Q's battery life stinks. Q9c has a great camera, great screen and a much better battery. The key pad is a full qwerty and easy to master.

Pearl has great battery life and a great size. The Suretype keyboard is easy to get a handle on... usually in about 30 minutes you are a master.

Centro is a good all around handset but the keypad seems small to me. The other con is you have to remove the battery to get to your memory card unlike the other two.

My recommendation... Switch to a better carrier. Sprint has the worst network of and CDMA carrier and their customer service is THE worst.  Go with US Cellular if they are in your market. Best network I've ever had.

What I would do is go into a store and try using your applications on the demo devices. I believe the demo devices have data service. That'd probably be the best way to see if your application will work, and to see if you can stand working on the device.

All three phones have different OS, the Q having Windows Mobile 5 (I don't believe it got the upgrade to 6 yet), the Centro runs Palm OS, and the BB Pearl runs Blackberry OS. Windows Mobile and Palm OS have more third-party software available than Blackberry. Palm OS is regarded as being simpler to use than Windows Mobile, but it also shows its age. I would still recommend trying all of them out and see which one works best for you.
