Which is the best Final Fantasy game for DS?

Question

I may run to gamestop or walmart to buy a DS in a few hours but i want to know which game would better suit my play style.

I do love the Final Fantasy genre on the Playstation 2 such as Final Fantasy X, X-2 and the upcoming XII (december i think?) and i was wondering if square Enix has a game similar to that of the Playstation series.

Where you can change classes (or characters!) and have the characters on either side of the screen instead of a huge game board.

Any suggestions?

It doesn't have to be a part of the Final Fantasy series. I'm sure i will like it if it's anime oriented :P

Final Fantasy Tactic A2 is really good.  Lots of classes to choose from.  Lots of missions.  I already completely about 70 missions, and I think I still have quite a few to go before I finish the game.  It's similar to PSX's FF Tactics.  

FFXII:  Revenant Wings is good, but it kind of sucks that the attacks and healing are all automatic.  When you're in a battle, you really can't choose what spells to cast or what attacks to use on a turn by turn basis.  It's sort of mix between RTS and RPG.

I know Phantom Hourglass isn't an FF game, but it's still really good.
