  1. HI I recieved a 2050, which is not a great score but it's decent. I honestly and sad to say studied like a mad woman leading two months up to the test. I started out with a 1900 without studying on my practice test then took the real thing and got a 2050 (620 Reading, 730 Math, 700 Writing). Anyway this is about you, not me.

A lot of people I know like to study more challenging material, so they find the real test less challenging for them. Barrons is great for this this, for each of the questions go so in depth.

However, if your like me, and just want the real deal (or almost an exact replica of the real test), I'd go for the Princeton Review.

  2. The big blue collegeboard book. It has a bunch of practice tests you can take and It comes from the people that make the test, so it's probably the closest to what you'll see on the actual SAT.

  3. Well each SAT prep book writes differently, and that does play a role in how you learn. All the advice in the prep books are pretty much the same.

I recommend the Princeton Review or the Sparknotes SAT books. I used those to study for mine, and I got a 2010. They're written like somebody is explaining things to you with examples, or it's kind of dumbed down (you could say). But if you want to take loads of practice tests, then I would tell you to get the College Board's SAT book, because those tests are more accurate and closer to the real SAT tests than any other prep book's.

I didn't like the Kaplan one, it didn't help. I didn't understand some of their explanations, and I usually didn't think the way the book wanted me to think.

Don't worry too much about it, SAT scores aren't the only thing colleges look at. Good luck!

  4. I tried kaplan, and it didn't help me much. Then I tried the Princeton Review SAT guide, but I only increased my score by about 110 points with it. Then I got the tutorfox SAT guide http://www.tutorfox.com/satguide.html and increased my score by 320 points.
