  1. otago uni(south island) is really good, awsome social scene for scarfies(thats the nz term for otago uni students), otherwise auckland(north island) uni is another popular uni for international students :)

  2. massey-auckland

    canterbury

    otago

    victoria-wellington

  3. Gonna sound like an echo,

    but

    Otaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaago!

    I am studying here.

    I have professors who are the tops in their field,

    award winning researchers!

    It's a very nice blend of international students

    and there is almost always something to do

    (aside from partying)

    plus it's a nice city and there are many cool beaches nearby,

    with mountains for skiing and snowboarding not that far away.

    Lots of neat natural wildlife like penguins, seals, albatross and sea lions.

    There's several pools, an ice rink, rugby and cricket fields,

    dance, theatre, music, and art galore.

    Lots of op shops for bargain hunters.

    Oh, and a plethora of cafes.

    What more could you want?

    C'mon down and check it out

    or watch one of their music videos or adverts,

    just click on the link below...

  4. Victoria University in Wellington is famous for Law & English based subjects.

    Otago Universtity is famous for science based subjects, in paticular Medicine.

    Auckland University apparantly has very good design based courses.

    Lincoln Unversity is a science based University specialising in Agriculture & Horticulture.

    Canterbury University is well know to have one of NZ's best engineering courses.

    Massey University has NZ's best Aviation school and are also known for sciences.

    All these Universities offer a wide range of subjects but I have just listed the ones theyre best known for

  5. Depend on the course you are looking at and in any case most of the institutions  of higher learning degrees are recognized worldwide.  Cheaper than Australia based on the current rates of exchange.

  6. It really depends what you want to study and what sort of person you are.

    If you want to study surveying, medicine, or basically anything. And you're into partying.

    Then Otago (in Dunedin)

    If you're wanting to study law or architecture then go to Victoria (Wellington)

    Engineering= Lincon (Christchurch)

    Vet= Massey.

    etc

    I would look into Otago, Victoria and Auckland.

  7. University of Waikato in Hamilton.

    Massey University

    Otago University

    are all pretty good.

  8. there are rumours, but some rumours don't get around for nothing.

    these are the ones i've heard;

    otago has the best law school

    massey is the best uni for communications; journalism/politics

    auckland has the best/most maori/pacific island scholarships

    auckland has the best science building, and commerce

    victoria is the place for drama and history

    te wananga o aotearoa is the place for maori studies

    auckland uni has been named the leading uni of nz

  9. It all depends on what you want to study. The universities specialise.

  10. otago university and university of auckland are among the two most popular and renowned..personally i think auckland is best academically, but maybe otago for the social life..

  11. I would say that all are pretty good really....some have areas of specialty eg Massey for vets, Otago and Auckland for Medicine, etc, Lincoln for agriculture etc

    I did read something a while ago that has Auckland as being the best research uni and having probably more choice of subject that some others....I went to Canterbury which also has an excellent research standard....second to Auckland ( I did science).......I would say that most people who go to a particular would say they liked it....I enjoyed my 6 1/2 years at Canterbury....so I would go to one that has the courses you would like to do....if specialised then that limits your options, but if its a general degree.....its up to you!
