  1. A very good, free anti-virus available to download is AVG 8 Anti-virus:

    http://www.free.grisoft.com

And for any spyware problems, get SpyBot - Search and Destroy:

    http://www.safer-networking.org/en/mirro...

Both are free, as powerful as paid programs, like Norton and McAfee, and don't use up as many

    resources.

Just boot into Safe Mode (Press F8 when turning on the computer) and run full scans.

    Hope that helps.

  2. Just use foxfire and you will be fine.  Adding a bunch of that antivirus stuff just dramatically slows and freezes your computer.  Firefox = safe

  3. for the paid ones

norton is to bloated and a system resource hog, i didnt like it.

BitDefender was definetly nice and i did like it but found it to be a resource hog too

Kapersky is my favorite paid virus protector out there love it!

Mcafee never got to try it because the trial version ran out when i bought the pc

    for the free one

i suggest AVG free edition :) i like it
