Many board games say "for 2-6 players", but they usually work best with 3 or more. Are there any good board games for just 2 players?

  10. Flux, WOW TCG, Pirates TCG, Star Wars pocket Models.

  11. Snakes and ladders it`s to slow and boring with more than 2.

  16. Tons!  Some of the favorite games of my girlfriend and I are:

Factory Fun - a great puzzle game.  Hard to find though, and only good for real logic-puzzle fans, but it is one of our favorites.

Race for the Galaxy - this new card game about building a galactic empire is highly addictive and plays great with two.

Mr. Jack - two player game with a little bit of deduction and a lot of strategy.  Very fun.

Roma - a quick and confrontational two player dice and card game set in the roman empire.

Arkham Horror - this is a complicated and long game, but its a lot of fun and is played cooperatively against the game itself.  Best with two players, and great for a chance to team up!  A game about a desperate race to stop ancient evil from awakening.

If you give any more info about what you like, I could customize suggestions some more!

  17. Scrabble    . You can play for free at www.isc.ro. You can play with people from all over the world.

  22. My husband and I play 2-player games all the time

    Miniature War-ish Game: Battlelore

Abstract: Chess, Hive (favorite ever), Go, Yinsh (great game), Zertz, Othello, Quarto (short and very replayable)

Themed: Dungeon Twister (a really fun "thinker")

    Fun/Dexterity: Elk Fest

Deductive: Mr. Jack, Lord of the Rings: the Confrontation Deluxe

    Card: Lost Cities

I'd say my favorite is Hive or Yinsh, but my husband loves Battlelore. Battlelore tends to appeal to both sexes as it is a fantasy war game, but light and card driven. Not quite as geeky as it sounds! Well worth the investment.

Lost Cities is VERY popular when it comes to getting non-gamers to play. Its fun, light and as addictive as solitaire. Also not very expensive.

(all above games are strictly two player games, not 2-6 players)

multi-player games that work well two player: Caylus (a bit heavy), Tikal (<3), Carcassonne, Mexica

  23. Baby on Board seems to be a great activity game

  24. draughts.

  25. sorry or chechers or chess
