  1. You have to have a 4 year nursing degree to be a Nurse.

No military branch trains you to be a nurse.

But the Navy, Army and Air Force have plenty of medical jobs you can enlist as.

  2. Scratch the Marines, they use the Navy for their medical needs.  As far as MOS's go, it depends on where you are at.  If you have a BSN then you can become a commissioned officer as a nurse.  If not, you might want to either go to nursing school first.  It all depends really in the situation you are in now.

If you go enlisted the Army has a wide variety of medical field mos's you may be interested in and the navy has the hospital corpsman rating.  I don't know much about the air force.

    Good luck

  3. From reading your question it looks like you want to become a nurse some day and are not currently one. If that is so, branch wise you have three choices - Army, Navy or Air Force. It does not matter if you go active duty, national guard or reserve as you will attend the same MOS training.

My honest opinion would be to look at the Army's Medical Specialist course (68W). You will leave AIT as a registered EMT basic and (depending on where you end up) have a great chance to actually get hands-on experience providing care to patients and not just shuffling papers.
