Question:

Which is the best car seat?

I've been searching for a good carseat that's not too expensive. After all of my researching, I've decided I like the First Year's True Fit convertible car seat and the Evenflo Triumph Advance Premier convertible carseat, but I don't know which to choose. My son is 11 months old but only weighs 16 or 17lbs (he was premature) so he has to stay rear-facing until at least 20lbs, but he is tall and beginning to outgrow his infant carrier. I know I want to keep him rear facing for as long as possible which is why I would prefer a convertible car seat and I won't have to buy another car seat anytime soon. Has anybody ever tried any of these?

  2. I'm not a mom but I'm a nanny and I have 2 nephews so I have learned to pay attention to car seats. The First Year True Fit one I think would be my pick. I like the removeable headrest for smaller and rearfaceing children, but then when your son gets taller and forward facing you can put the headrest on again (as some cars don't have headrests so even when the child is using the cars seat belt rather them the five point harness they might still need the booster with a back rather then a backless one. But by the time your son is in a seat belt the car seat laws will probably have changed anyway). The only thing about that one is that I didn't see a cup holder (for a sippy cup later on). Also I couldn't see if it reclined or not and If you travel a lot that would be a plus I would think. The Evenflo Triumph Advance Premier one is nice to. I like the folding cup holder. That one is only up to 50lbs but again, by that time you will probably be replacing it anyway. Good luck in choosing the right one! Your son is lucky to have a mom who is so concerned about his safety and making the right choises for him. So many poeple don't see the importence of a good car seat.
