John Deere, New Holland, or Mahindra. And tell me by either true facts or experience. Or something else. And provide facts behind your answer. Also tell me which one has the best customer satisfaction, overall quality, best support, most power, and overall best out of the 3.

  1. John Deere-personal use.

  2. John Deere, we used one with great success for many years.

  3. John Deere is the "cadillac" of tractors.  Very good reputation, but you also pay for the name.

New Holland - Im only familiar with larger farm implements, which are of a very good quality, also expensive.

Mahindra is actually a company from India.  Of the three, their machines will cost the least.  What is interesting about Mahindra, is that their original tractor design came from an American company, International (Who now specializes in semi-trucks, and is a premier manufacturer, of those, and school buses).  This is a prime example of American jobs going overseas.  International set up Mahindra so they could make parts for them, (cheaper labor), and eventually they were making the whole tractor.  Now they are in the tractor business, and International isnt.  The design hasnt changed tho....Its still the same tractor that International set them up with.  It has been my experience, when dealing with companies from India, that they are good at 'rote' production.  Show them how do something, and they get very good at it...But they don't seem to be able to innovate, or make improvements.  I've discussed this with production manufacturers and computer tech industry officials, and I've gotten the same impression from individuals in those fields.  If you want it made cheaply, send it to India... but you better have a good design, because they can't work out the problems, if there are any.  Fortunately, .. or unfortunately...depending on if you were an original International employee who lost his job, .... International did send them a good, proven design.

One name you did not mention is Kubota.  Kubota is a Japanese tractor, and is also of a very high quality.  I've used Kubota compact tractors myself over the years, and have been very impressed with how well they hold up.  They also offer a very nice selection of attachments to make their tractor more versatile.  Of these four brands, my first choice would be Kubota, then possibly John Deere.

  4. John deere most expensive has the most dealer support though

probably built the best I never heard any thing bad but the pricetag

New holland nearly as good nearly as much dealer support somewhat cheaper

Mahindra I know verry little on

There are also Montana and McCormick allthough they are a bit more obscure and montana is comming out of nowhere to be a major player

Overall I'd have to say john deere if I had the money I'd get one of theese allthough there subcompacts seem a bit more like a big riding mower I'd also possibly consider mc cormick or montana for a machine in the 23-35 Hp range they are smaller but seem to have a heavier frame

Kubotas I hear are a pain to get parts for and their dealer intranet strcuture needs work

also depends on what your useing it for be shure to share this with your dealer

  5. Kabota-- lasts forever-------
