  1. The best one to buy is the one which not only pleases your eye, you find simple to operate, and easily hooks up to all the other entertainment equipment you already have. It is the one you can truly AFFORD, while giving you Warranty protection to match your inability/unwillingness to pay for repairs for the Warranty period. Thence how you view being faced with repair or replacement if and when it fails beyond that time.

Most TV's these days are so full of same brand component parts (the components field is very incestuous) "that no-one can truly say which one is "The best".

For the average consumer, there is perhaps some more security in going for a brand that you know has excellent backup service arrangements,, as many shall we say " Vague Brands" lack service backup, and many have been pushed out at "Bargain Prices" only to disappear completely from the marketplace, some within only 18 months of appearing on the market.

But over the years I have repaired even so-called Rolls Royce brand units that have failed while on the shop floor before they were even sold! These ended up back at Manufacturers Service Department, were fixed, then returned for sale as "Reboxed as New" !  You may have bought one of these......you would never have known it though!

  2. Ive been impressed with samsung, great picture, nice contrast ratio which is very important for an LCD. but your question is like asking which pair shoes are going to be best for you. i took a few DVD with me and had the salesmen let me check them out on the TVs i was interested in...id could tell that they absolutely hated my guts for it but it was a big purchase for me.  also dont ignore the the placement requirements for viewing. if your to far or too close to it or at an extreme angle it Will look bad to you. good luck, Ive been where your standing

  3. you generally get what you pay for, sony, panasonic and samsung tend to make the best ones, but go for the more expensive models.

buy from John Lewis for a free 5 year guarantee (they will also match competitor's price if it's an actual shop, not a dodgy internet seller)

look for 178 degree viewing angle, this is the sign of a higher quality LCD panel.

  4. i recomend samsung but its your t.v. so you choose

  5. without a doubt the best LCD tvs on the market are sony bravia.

word of advice though right now plasma tvs excel over LCD tvs. However plasma tv technology is nearing its peak whereas LCD technology is still in its beginnings. If you want a d**n good LCD tv give it about a year or two and see if there are any breakthroughs.
