i strongly believe that Ionian islands are the best for families!

For instance, Zakynthos,Kefalonia,Corfu...I suggest you go to Corfu!It is waaaaaaay too beautiful!ur family gonna love it!

Now,concerning the Aegean sea,Rhodes,Crete,Skiathos,Lesvos,Sifnos and Paros and Santorini are veeeeeeeeery beautiful!I suggest you Skiathos,Paros or even Naxos !Places with nice food and culture....!Rhodes is also magnificent!

I was taken to Kefalonia by my parents at that age and absolutely loved it. Lovely places to eat and not too much nightlife. The beaches were almost deserted so me and my sister could just play on the beach to our hearts content! I highly recommend it!

try samos........the  landing alone is a bit different from the norm for starters !.......just off the turkish coast.......not as lively as the other islands mentioned but depends on what the family is looking for ??

Ask your daughter if she is a fan of the sisterhood of the traveling pants?

if so Santarini is perfect because they just wrapped of filming the second movie

if you guys like world war 2 buy the book Vassili lion of crete and visit locations talked of in that book or just go to crete and hang out

if you stay near ierepetra you can make a day trip to one of the only white sand beaches in the mediterranean

called chrissi island

the best things to do would be gorge walks where you can gather herbs (villea offers during summer months)

go see the grotto of Zeus or the palace of knossos

the only resorts i can tell you of are both on completely different sides of crete one is

plakias bay

both are cute hotels on Crete one is towards the eastern side and on is on the western side

villea is closer to the city of Ierepetra

and both hotels will tell you about wonderful areas to shop nearby (ask about open air markets for great deals on clothing)

well, its got to be rhodes and then secondly corfu. both lovely. if you decide on rhodes you must visit the old town especially by night and the butterfly valley, your daughter will be amazed at the thousands of butterflys.
