Which is the best home carpet cleaner

Question

I need a very good carpet cleaner as I have a cat and dog that like to wee-wee and p**p on the carpet. Not only the stains are bad but so is the smell. I have been looking at the Bissell Pro Heat. Anyone know a really really good one? No lectures about the animals please.

I clean at a friends house with multiple pets that wee EVERYWHERE.. THEY have TWO Bissell Pro Heat machines and I don't think it worked all that well...

I had MORE success using SPRAY n WASH with RESOLVE, Scrub brush, bucket of diluted vinegar/water AND a wet/dry shopvac!  To spot clean- !   Sprinkle baking soda on your carpeting once a week and leaving it on overnight will also help eliminate pet odors.. As will airing out the house every so often...

I would rent a rugdoctor for $25 a day every few months or so.  Invest in a nice wet/dry shopvac for "accidents" they are GREAT and not just for the garage..... A good one like a Craftsmen will cost around $50!  

If your animals are peeing in the house when you are NOT home maybe it would be a good idea to crate or kennel train your animals.. It's not mean or harmful and it would save you $$$$ in the long run.. Or you can have someone let them out while you are away or maybe install a pet door system so they can let themselves out to pee.  That would probably still be cheaper than buying a carpet cleaner.....

I have the Bissell Pro Heat Pet2x and absolutely love it! I bought it at Sears and it was 269.00. I checked Amazon just to compare price and their price was the same so I was happy:) I have two pups that are still potty training. I buy the carpet shampoo that is made to get rid of pet odors. For tough areas, I use the heavy wash setting and rinse a few times after.

I had 2 of the Bissell Pro Heat cleaners. They are junk. They both broke down after the second time using them. Buy the Hoover at Walmart. I love it. Don't over do the detergent or you will be rinsing forever. I dilute it with water.
