Which is the best home phone provider?

Question

I just asked how to connect to BT and was advised that BT are not very good. Who is the best home phone and broadband provider? Will I still need to pay line rental through BT?

Hi,I changed 5 years ago from BT.I went to NTL which is now Virgin.I have broadband,Tele & Phone for £30 a month.I have saved a fortune & will not go back to BT or Sky.

I'm with orange, but won't stay with them, I know people who have been with tiscali for years & they are very happy with them, I'm goin over to them, when my Orange contracts up!

If you do not have a phone line currently then you will have to get one installed by BT as they control all the UK lines.

But if you already have a working line the company I use are excellent, they are cheaper than BT and also do line rental.

At present they do not have an internet service in the UK, it will be coming but when I do not know, however I have found an excellent broadband service supplier who are based in Wolverhampton.

I would be very wary of all the other broadband and telephone package companies, especially their cheap deals, the companies I suggest have very good customer service depts where you can actually speak to English speakers.

BT by far, ive tried talk talk, talk 21, virgin, tesco, aol and i keep going back to BT they supply my broadband also and never (touch wood) have any problems

Hi,

I have answered your other question too, however BT in my opinion are fine to go with, you need to think about the calls package that works for you, but the service itself is fine, only had 2 faults in 18 years both fixed with in 24 hours so not bad in my opinion.
