I'd recommend Woraburi Phuket Resort http://www.discovery-thailand.com/Hotels... . Relatively cheap and great value for the money. A nice hotel with good service. We specially recommend the rooms with pool access. That is pure luxury! I stay in 4 and 5 star hotels all over the world and from my perspective, this hotel was surprisingly good in every way! Great restaurants next door and Massage. Fresh fruit cart on the corner.

Try Secret Cliff Resort in Karon. There are nice rooms with a balcony/deck overlooking the ocean. The hotel has free shuttle buses to Karon beach and Patong.

Or if you want to get closer to the beach try beachfront resorts such as Katathani resort on Kata Noi. For a cheaper option try Bangtao Lagoon Bungalow.
