  1. palour palms are really easy to look after ive had mine for years and they dont need to much watering either

  2. Pothos.  They are a cascading green ivy like plant that are very easy to care for.  They are pretty, lush and usually look good in any pot and with any decor.

    They don't flower though.

  3. It depends how much light you get, how the air circulation is, and how much you want to fuss over it.

Do you go away from home a lot? Then get something that requires very little water. (like cacti, jade, aloe vera, and echeveria)

Does your house have south-facing windows where you want a plant to go? North facing windows? How many hours of light? If you have lots of west or south light, you can do a lot of different things than if you have low light. Be realistic.

Are you the type of person that wants something to baby? Then pick plants that like to be evenly moist rather than ones that like to be dry for long periods. (like peace lily, azalea, croton)

But most important is to find a plant that looks nice in your house and makes you feel good.

I would suggets going to a garden centre that carries tropicals and seeing what looks fun. Good luck!

  4. without a doubt the spider plant!  can't kill it and it is easy to give as a gift. the plant puts out the spiders that will root in water.

  5. Depends how much room you have got and what location you want to put it in.

If you want minimum care with maximum impact try a Tradescantia - there are a number of different ones around and they are cheap to buy, need little care and can be cut back easily as they will reroot from any part of the stem.

If you have a bit more room mayber a variegated fig would suit you.  They are very forgiving and thrive in some of the most out of the way places in a house!

  6. peace lily-but need humidity. I have one in my bathroom thats about 12 years old and it flowers regularly, which it didn't used to before I put it in the bathroom.

  7. If you would like a plant which is easy to look after buy a Yucca Plant.....

  8. In my opinion, the humble spider plant, as it is one of the best for taking in the fumes that central heating generates.

  9. An artificial one

    takes no looking after

  10. I have an Aloe Vera plant - it needs very little watering and it looks great. Plus - if you gave any sunburn you can break a piece off to soothe your skin!!

Also, I have a Yucca. Looks great and easy to care for.

  11. THE EASIEST TO GROW (WATER TOLERANT) AND FOR LIGHT SPECIFICATIONS ARE PHILODENDRONS.  DOESN'T MATTER WHETHER OR NOT THEY ARE VARIEGATED.  PLUS WHEN THEY GET GANGLY YOU JUST CUT THEM WAY BACK AND THEY GROW OUT ALL NEW AND FULL AGAIN!

  12. Money plant! Not much TLC needed and great results!

  13. I just cannot kill pathos, so I think it is the best.

  14. Money plants. Mainly foliage plants.

  15. I believe the best houseplants to have are the pothos and the philodendrons.  They are basically care-free; only needing water and some light.  These plants would be good for any first-timer!
