I think LG TVs are the best, I have a 50 inch LG TV and it is brilliant. If you don't find a nice LG TV than I would go for a Samsung television they are good as well

from a person who sells them and deals with returns i say anything made by sony their bravia engine is the best

also the contrast is normally higher

btw just so you know comet are bringing out the thinnest ever lcd's soon they priced at around £1300 and oleds are comin out next year and laser tvs are out in a few more years wow!!

LCD is way better than anything else you can find on the market now theres no better felling the watching your favorite football team and thinking your right there in seat 5 row 2 on the 50 yard line with a cold one in your hand.

Panasonic win most of the group tests in the Audio Visual enthusiasts magazines and websites.  Sony used to be good but have fallen behind in LCD. Samsung or LG are a good budget option.
