I went in May a couple of years ago and it was breathtaking.  I loved it more than a carribean cruise.  The mountains and the glaciers were so beautiful.  It was very peaceful and calm.  I cried when the trip was over.  Hope you have as much fun as I did.

June is the best month, and I have lived in Alaska for nearly 14 years.

I have been there on 19 cruises most in May. You can see whales all season. May to Sept. If you decide to go on a whale watching excursion only go on ones that are guaranteed. They run about $125.00 each but, if you do not see a whale you get back $100. each. A GREAT place.
