  2. The version I like best is in The Arthur Trilogy by Bernard Cornwall, Winter King, Enemy of God and Excalibar.

    I was disapointed in the film that came out last year I think it was as I like the above version so much!

  3. The most important medieval telling of the Tristan story is probably Thomas Malory's in the Morte Arthur.

    More recently Wagner based his opera on Gottfried von Strassbourg's poem, but Thomas Berger's novel goes back to Malory again.
