  1. xp only..

bcoz it supports all s/w of old version & new version..

vista supports only latest version s/w only........

xp is better and good for all...

  2. i use windows vista but i still reckon xp

  3. XP is better in terms of performance

VISTA has good looks n usability but XP is a better performer

  4. Its a fact that XP SP3 has benchmarked better in performance tests compared to Vista SP1. XP still outperforms Vista in most tasks. However, Vista has a lot of functions and is much faster at transfering/copying files.

But you need to upgrade to Vista if you want Direct X 10, another Microsoft ploy to make you fork out your cash. Also you need Vista 64 bit if you want more than 3.5gb of RAM in your PC (64bit XP has bad support for drivers).

I would personally stick with XP unless you want a better graphical interface or your PC has 3.5gb+ of RAM and a Direct X 10 capable graphics card.

  5. Vista is sure better

    many xtra features

but to run vista properly u must need a super comp

u mean that a comp with 4 gigs RAM , etc

  6. XP (all of my friends talk about how cumbersome and slow Vista is), but I'd recommend switching to Mac OS X if you're thinking of upgrading to Vista instead. The Mac is much more solid and versatile.

  7. It really depends, Vista is media rich and feature rich which slows it down on bridging computers. Most of the preference lately is the fact that Vista is new and different, so naturally theres a learning curce to find your way around, bugs that have greatly disapeared since Service Pack 1.

However due to the hardware requirements to get Vista to run nicely I prefer Windows XP. Untill I can upgrade.

I dont advise running vista on anything less that 2GB ram, thats my opinion as a systems administrator, 1GB will be fine but i recommend at least 2GB

  8. All the "XP is better" answers are just folks repeating the same old (and now incorrect) garbage. Vista with SP1 upgrade is better. Only stick with XP if you have an old, weak PC, with a tiny hard drive. Vista does need more room and more memory, but if you have that then definitely go with Vista.

  9. XP is better. But,anyways microsoft will remove support to XP ,so that everybody will move to Vista :| .

  10. Xp but i like leopard better than my computer with xp and vista hate the computer with vista

  11. I see this question allot, and it's hard to answer.  XP is a very good OS, but it's really starting to get quite bloated with all of it's security and update patches.  Vista is a very good OS and has many features that XP lacks.

I use Vista, but then I'm a computer tech.  It only took me about an hour to tweak Vista so that it operates the way I want it.  Once I had it tweaked I found that Vista is:  Much faster then XP.  Much more secure then XP.  And it is very stable.  I have not had any freezes or blue screens since I loaded it 19 months ago.   It runs all of my software except for one old dos based program that I should have gotten rid of a long time ago anyway.   One thing I do like about Vista is it willingness to set up and control my network.

But remember, these are simply "Operating Systems".  Just a platform upon which all other software runs.
