Which is the best paying airline of all?

Almost all airlines have around the same pay scale, not saying they are the same, but similiar. Some pay higher such as the flag ships..  continental, delta but the most sought after airline jobs are for FedEx, DHL and UPS. The cargo business is not cyclical in the way passenger travel is, so their is more job security. Pilots dont worry about layoffs as  much, and being a scheduled airline, have more of a fixed schedule.

--Doesn't matter.  What matters is whether you pick one that goes under, and you have to begin again at the bottom of some other airline.

I have to agree with Fred. In the US You have two preferred airlines to work for, Continental and Southwest. With Continental you have more opportunity to work and travel overseas if you like where Southwest is for now strictly a domestic carrier.  The foreign carriers don't pay as well as the US carriers but who knows what will happen in the next 5-10 years. You take the job that is offered and hope it works out.
