  1. Dingle for sure, its very slow paced and everyone is so friendly. A great place to stay to see true ireland with out all the tourists, with still so many things to do and explore, its great.

  2. hi went southern ireland last year stayed at the celtic ross hotel(forgive spelling) in rosscabery not much to do but great area!!

also stopped in town called athlone at hotel that name slips my mind.(will find out and edit answer)great hotel situated by 2 masive man inland lakes,i will be going back there!!!!!!!!

if its a more rowdy drinky weekend then dublin or cork.

oh another place with great views bray only 30 mins from ferry port dublin straight down n25

hope this helps. name of hotel"hodson bay hotel"

  3. Go a google on racing in Ireland, check out the Irish Tourist Board's short weekends. I adore the west of Ireland, particularly Galway, whose university Martin Sheen is currently studying for his BA at, so impressed was he with the place. Dublin is like any other city, boring and dangerous and expensive.

Don't forget your euro. No sterling here. We left the empire and can't walk the streets in safety at night anymore. God be with the days when the Regent would come see us. Long time ago now. You must be very hardy to come at this time of year. A bit chilly, don't you think?

  4. Well without knowing what your interests ae , it is hard to asnwer that question. Dublin and Cork are 2 main cities close to airports so with a visit. My advise is avoid Kinsale (Coinn Tsaile) as it is full of Americans (absoulutely nothing against Americans, but I would go to the US to meet, them. Surely if you are in Ireland you would want to meet Irish. Clonakilty is nice and Co Wexford has the longest beach in Europe right up to Wicklow.

  5. We don't have short weekends in Ireland - they're the same length as everywhere else!

But Galway is well known as a great spot with both horse and greyhound racing (just check out the schedules), practically everything is within walking distance, people are friendly, traffic is managable, craic is great and to top it off the airport is less than 10 minutes from the city centre.

  6. No question about it;Cork City

  7. dublin but only because that's were i'm from! but galway city is brilliant

  8. Killarney is lovely. Even if it rains.

  9. Westport if u like 2 drink, donegal if u like scenery, sligo, kerry r galway if it's d horses ur after

  10. Sligo is a beautiful place for a short break. It has its own racetrack, and is also not far from Roscommon racetrack. There are plenty of small traditional Irish pubs, where you always get a friendly welcome.

  11. The air terminal!.

  12. Dublin! If u want shopping,entertainment,history,nightlife etc.

  13. If you like the races probably Galway when the racing festival is on in the summer ,also  killarney in kerry is very nice .
